Lee Virtual Healthcare Department

Description: Led the strategic initiative to establish the Lee Virtual Healthcare Department, a pioneering endeavor in the realm of virtual healthcare services. This groundbreaking project involved the creation of a fully virtual department encompassing multiple service line vertices.

As the project manager, I played a key role in designing the department's roadmap, which included developing comprehensive strategies for staffing projections, financial analysis, and proforma projections. This involved conducting extensive market research, analyzing technological requirements, and identifying key partnerships to ensure the department's success.

Furthermore, I oversaw the implementation of robust training programs to equip staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the virtual healthcare environment. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, we successfully integrated cutting-edge telehealth technologies and streamlined processes to optimize patient care delivery and ensure a seamless virtual experience.

The establishment of the Lee Virtual Healthcare Department represented a significant leap forward in healthcare innovation, enhancing accessibility, convenience, and patient outcomes. Remote Patient Monitoring Program

Description: Successfully implemented a Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) program following an extensive vendor search. Secured a $1M telehealth grant to support the program's implementation. The RPM program significantly reduced readmissions by proactively monitoring and managing patient health remotely. By identifying department synergy, we expanded care plans and increased program census, enhancing the overall effectiveness of patient care.

Lee Community Healthcare in Lehigh Acres

Description: Spearheaded the development and establishment of the Lee Community Healthcare clinic in Lehigh Acres, serving as the flagship Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) within our health system. This transformative project aimed to address the healthcare needs of an underserved community by providing comprehensive family medicine, pediatric, and OB/GYN services.

The Lee Community Healthcare clinic became a model FQHC, offering a wide range of essential healthcare services to individuals and families who previously faced limited access to quality care. By coordinating with community partners and leveraging internal resources, we successfully implemented this initiative, promoting health equity and improving the overall well-being of the underserved population in Lehigh Acres.

This project exemplified our commitment to expanding healthcare access and addressing disparities, showcasing our dedication to making a positive impact on the community's health and quality of life.

Telemedicine & Telemedicine On Demand

Description: Spearheaded the comprehensive implementation of Telemedicine and Telemedicine On Demand, a transformative initiative aimed at providing 24/7 virtual urgent care visits for patients. This project was particularly crucial during the challenging COVID-19 period, as it offered a safe and convenient alternative for patients requiring immediate medical attention.

As the project lead, I navigated through the complexities of establishing a robust telemedicine infrastructure. This involved coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards. Rigorous testing and stress-testing protocols were conducted to guarantee the reliability and security of the telemedicine platform.

Furthermore, I orchestrated extensive training programs for healthcare professionals, enabling them to seamlessly transition to virtual care delivery. Through comprehensive training sessions, staff members acquired the necessary skills to provide exceptional care through telemedicine, fostering patient engagement and satisfaction.

The successful implementation of Telemedicine and Telemedicine On Demand marked a significant milestone in expanding access to urgent care services. By leveraging technology to bridge the gap between patients and healthcare providers, we were able to ensure continuous, high-quality care while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Lee Health Living Donor Kidney Transplant Program

Description: Led the successful re-opening of our health system's Living Donor Kidney Transplant Program, collaborating with key stakeholders to design and implement a comprehensive program that adhered to federal regulations and best practices.

Recognizing the critical need for organ transplantation and the significant impact it has on the lives of patients with end-stage renal disease, this project focused on reviving and enhancing our health system's Living Donor Kidney Transplant Program. By harnessing the power of living organ donation, we aimed to expand access to life-saving kidney transplants and improve patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities and achievements of the project include:

    1. Program Design and Development: Worked closely with the medical director and a multidisciplinary team to develop a robust program that encompassed all aspects of living donor kidney transplantation. This involved designing comprehensive protocols, establishing clear guidelines, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations and ethical standards.

      2. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborated with various stakeholders, including transplant surgeons, nephrologists, transplant coordinators, social workers, and      administrators, to gather input, address concerns, and foster a collaborative approach to program development. Regular meetings and feedback sessions ensured that all perspectives were considered, resulting in a well-rounded program design.

      3. Regulatory  Compliance: Navigated the complex landscape of federal regulations governing organ transplantation to ensure full compliance. This involved staying up to date with evolving guidelines, coordinating with regulatory bodies, and implementing necessary protocols to meet all requirements. Compliance with these regulations was essential to prioritize patient safety and maintain the program's integrity.

        4. Program Launch and Operations: Orchestrated the successful launch of the Living Donor Kidney Transplant Program, overseeing all operational aspects, including donor and recipient evaluations, surgical coordination, post-transplant care, and long-term follow-up. Close collaboration with transplant teams, hospital departments, and external organizations ensured smooth program operations and optimal patient outcomes.

      5. Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement: Implemented robust quality assurance measures to monitor program performance, assess patient outcomes, and identify areas for improvement. Regular data analysis, benchmarking, and  quality improvement initiatives were instrumental in enhancing the program's effectiveness and delivering the highest standard of care.

Addiction & Recovery Medicine Department

Description: Spearheaded the establishment of the Addiction Medicine Department within our health system, dedicated to addressing the pressing issue of addiction and substance abuse within our community.

Recognizing the significant impact of addiction on individuals, families, and the overall well-being of our community, this project aimed to create a specialized department focused on providing comprehensive care, treatment, and support for those struggling with addiction.

The project involved extensive collaboration with stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, community organizations, and experts in addiction medicine. Through strategic partnerships and a multidisciplinary approach, we developed a robust framework for the Addiction Medicine Department, encompassing prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services.

Key objectives of the project included:

1. Needs Assessment: Conducted a thorough assessment of the addiction landscape in  our community, analyzing data, conducting surveys, and engaging with community members to gain insights into the specific challenges and needs.
2. Program  Development: Developed evidence-based programs and treatment protocols tailored to address the diverse needs of individuals seeking addiction and  recovery services. This involved integrating best practices, leveraging      the expertise of addiction medicine specialists, and establishing      partnerships with local treatment facilities and support networks.
3. Care Coordination: Implemented a streamlined care coordination system to ensure seamless collaboration between healthcare providers, counselors, social workers, and community organizations. This facilitated comprehensive and holistic care for individuals, promoting long-term recovery and improved      health outcomes.
4. Community Engagement: Actively engaged with the community through educational initiatives, outreach programs, and awareness campaigns aimed at reducing the stigma associated with addiction and promoting access to care. These  efforts were vital in fostering a supportive environment and encouraging individuals to seek help without fear of judgment or discrimination.
5. Research and Evaluation: Established mechanisms to monitor program effectiveness, collect data, and conduct ongoing research to inform evidence-based practices and continually enhance the services offered by the Addiction Medicine Department.

By establishing the Addiction & Recovery Medicine Department, we demonstrated our commitment to addressing the complex challenges of addiction and substance abuse in our community. Through compassionate care, evidence-based treatment, and community partnerships, our aim is to empower individuals on their journey to recovery, improve the overall health and well-being of our community, and combat the devastating impact of addiction.
